The relentless romanticization of self-deprecation is the cancer of this damned generation. You are not sub-human. You are not “fucked-up.” You are not a special fucking flower for your self-diagnosed mental illnesses and assumed chronic depression. Fooling yourself into believing you are distinguished as an individual — solely on the misguided pretenses that you are utterly unextraordinary — will get you nowhere in life.

If you truly believe your existence is intrinsically insignificant, don’t sit around and whine and bitch about it. Get up and make something of yourself. Set an example for those who look up to you. Because regardless of how low you tell yourself and your 30 followers on the internet that you are — there are 3,000 people who are striving and breaking themselves to have a fraction of what you were born into this world with.

Stop taking the roof over your head and the food in your fridge for granted. Stop complaining about being an untalented, unimpressive, unintelligent waste of space and start working towards changing those attributes. Stop cursing at the heavens and start aspiring towards them.

Thank whomever you believe in — your parents, yourself, God — for what you were endowed with, and you’ll be given more reasons be grateful.
